I’m Jake - a Maths and Science tutor and education consultant. I have 10 years and over 9000 hours of one-to-one tutoring experience. Currently based in UK and tutoring globally.

Mastering the content is only the first step in tutoring. A good tutor must also be adaptable, understanding, compassionate and have strong communication skills. Lessons with me will be a combination of explanation, example and tasks for the student. I will aim to use my experience to find methods that are most appropriate for each student.

Tutoring Philosophy

One of the keys to successful tuition is transparency. My goal is to make sure that both student and parent are clear on the current status of the student, their work ethic, the grade they can expect and what they need to do to improve it. By aiming for open and honest conversation about the student’s progress we give ourselves the best chance at success.

Helping a student learn means considering their overall wellbeing. I aim to bring a holistic service that provides moral support in addition to academic. School and exams can be a stressful and challenging time in a young person's life and so I want my students to be happy and comfortable with everything that is happening, as well as successful.
